(SEATTLE) – The “12th man” and the city of Seattle celebrated the Seahawks’ Super Bowl championship on Wednesday with a parade, which culminated with a celebration at their home stadium, CenturyLink Field.
“Once again today, the 12th man demonstrated an extraordinary gift that they have,” Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said during the celebration. “The love, the spirit, that they showed us at this parade today, in this celebration was just beyond belief and we thank you so much for that.”
Seattle police estimated that 700,000 people flooded into downtown to watch the Seahawks parade that began near the Space Needle.
The Seahawks captured their first Vince Lombardi Trophy this past Sunday in Super Bowl XLVIII with a 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos.
