Weekly Jobless Claims Rise to 339K

iStock/Thinkstock(WASHINGTON) — Jobless claims kicked off the month of February by jumping to 339,000 last week, the Labor Department reported on Thursday.
For the week ending Feb. 8, the number of people filing for benefits rose by 8,000. The previous week, claims stood unrevised at 331,000.
The four-week average also went up, increasing by 3,500 to 336,750.
