Nene suffered the injury in the third quarter during the team’s win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. The injury could sideline him for the rest of the regular season.

Injuries are nothing new to Nene, but the Wizards are at their best when he’s in the lineup. Since joining the team in March 2012, the Wizards are 60-61 with him, and 8-34 without him.

The Wizards have curretnly won three-straight games and at 28-28 they sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference.

This season, the 31-year-old Nene is averaging 14.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.

With the injury to Nene, reserves Trevor Booker, Kevin Seraphin, and Al Harrington are expected to see an increase in playing time.
