(BUFFALO, N.Y.) — Flyers senior guard Vee Sanford scored the go-ahead basket with 3.8 seconds left as (11) Dayton (24-10) defeated (6) Ohio State (25-10), 60-59 in the second round of the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament on Thursday.
The Buckeyes had a chance to pull out the victory, but senior guard Aaron Craft missed a 10-foot jumper at the buzzer.
“Just try to get up the floor as quickly as possible, there’s only four seconds left,” Craft said of his last shot. “That’s kind of how our season has gone. I thought I got it up there high enough and obviously didn’t.”
Sophomore forward Dyshawn Pierre led the way for Dayton with 12 points and eight rebounds, while senior forward Devin Oliver contributed 11 points.
