Jordan Adams scored 19 points as the Bruins topped SF Austin 77-60 on Sunday in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

Kyle Anderson had 15 points and eight rebounds as the Bruins (28-8), won their fifth straight game.

“We’ve had a good overall season but our work isn’t done,” Anderson said.  “They don’t hang Sweet 16s up in Pauley.”

Thomas Walkup scored 22 points for SF Austin (32-3), a No. 12 seed, who hadn’t lost a game in exactly four months leading up to Sunday’s game.  They had their 29-game winning streak snapped at the hands of the Bruins.

UCLA will play Florida, the tournament’s overall top seed, in the South Regional semifinals on Thursday in Memphis.

“It’s a tough turnaround for us and we’re going to play arguably the best basketball team in the country right now, but it’s good to see us back in that mix and back in that discussion,” said first-year coach Steve Alford. “That’s what’s been a lot of fun.”
