(BOISE, ID) – The ACLU of Idaho is suing the state over the new “ag gag” law.  The measure, which goes into effect July 1, makes it illegal to secretly film alleged animal abuse at dairies, feedlots, and other farming facilities. Lobbyists with Idaho’s $2.5 billion dairy industry claim undercover videos released by animal rights groups are often misleading and bad for business. The ACLU contends that the law unfairly targets whistleblowers who are only advocating for more humane treatment of livestock.
