Bank Manager and Ex-Boyfriend Found Guilty in $500K Robbery
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — A former bank manager and her ex-boyfriend appear to be prison-bound.
It was Sept. 5, 2012. when Bank of America branch manager Aurora Barrera walked into her Los Angeles bank, claiming she had been kidnapped on her way to work, that the men who took her strapped a bomb to her body, and that she had to get the kidnappers cash or they would detonate the bomb. Over half a million dollars were put into a bag.
Now after a week-long trial Barrera, 33, and her then-boyfriend, 34-year-old Reyes “Ray” Vega, have been found guilty of plotting and carrying out the heist together.
When sentenced, both could get 30 years in federal prison.
