No time to travel to the salon for a blow out before a big event. Or, enough time, but not enough notice to get an appointment at one of the many blow-dry bars that have become en vogue in recent years.

Glamsquad is a new app that brings the blow dry to you — and they only need 60 minutes of advanced notice. The company was founded by Victoria Eisner, who came up with the idea after she needed a blowout and couldn’t get an appointment at the popular blow dry bars.

The app, recently launched in New York City and coming to Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and other cities this summer, aims to “make sure no woman will ever have to miss a party, event, or meeting because her hair doesn’t look good,” Eisner told ABC News. The cost: $50.

It works like this: Download the app, book the appointment with at least 60 minutes advance notice. Enter the date, time and desired location of your appointment and the company will get back to you. If you don’t have an iPhone, you can book through email.

The stylists are picked and trained by Giovanni Vaccaro, the brand’s Creative Director. He spent the last 10 years working as a senior stylist at Frederic Fekkai. And since these people are coming to your home, the company said each is subjected to a “rigorous” background check.

So far, Glamsquad is proving to be popular. Eisner said women are adding Glamsquad to their daily routine “just as they would book a spin class, or a manicure.”

“It saves so much time not to have to travel to and from the salon, and time is the most valued commodity,” she added.
