(NEW YORK) — The Cleveland Browns released wide receiver Davone Bess on Wednesday.
Bess came to Cleveland in a trade with the Miami Dolphins during the 2013 draft, but his 42 catches and nine drops were not enough to warrant another chance.
Bess, 28, left the team during the final two games of the season and tweeted photos of himself with what appeared to be marijuana.
Bess is owed $3.067 million in guaranteed money in 2014, but the Browns may try to void the guarantees, based on his behavior.
