(POCATELLO, ID) – The Pocatello-Chubbuck Chamber of Commerce is warning area residents about a phone scam. Executives say someone calling from a 402 area code in Nebraska is asking for personal banking information. In order to deceive local citizens, they’re falsely claiming to represent the Chamber of Commerce. Officials say they would never use an outside company to reach out to the community without sending out an advance notice. They’re also asking people to call their main office directly if they suspect they’re being scammed.
