(NEW YORK) — Elisabeth Moss is all smiles on the cover of New York Magazine, but the actress revealed in the magazine that her short-lived nuptial to Fred Armisen was anything but happy.
“Looking back, I feel like I was really young, and at the time I didn’t think that I was that young,” Moss, 31, said in the March 10 issue of New York Magazine. “It was extremely traumatic and awful and horrible.”
While Moss’s first marriage didn’t turn out exactly how she wanted it to, she still managed to find the bright side to all of it.
“At the same time, it turned out for the best. I’m glad that I’m not there. I’m glad that it didn’t happen when I was 50. I’m glad I didn’t have kids. And I got that out of the way. Hopefully,” she said. “Like, that’s probably not going to happen again.”
Moss and Armisen, 47, married in October 2009 and filed for divorce by September 2010.
Moss said “it sucks” to have had tabloids talking about her divorce and her feelings.
“I always knew that the stuff that you read is not true, but when I was in the situation and you really, actually read things that you apparently said or did that are 100 percent made up,” she added. “It’s just the strange, simple thing of, that’s your heart they’re talking about, and it just…it sucks.”
