Researchers at Bronx’s Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University say children reap the benefits of five particular activities that enhance their social-emotional health.

Those family activities are eating together, playing together, singing, reading and parents telling their youngsters stories.

Based on an analysis of responses of 8,550 children to various questions, the more things families did as a unit, the higher the social-emotions health, which helps kids better understand emotions, express empathy and form stronger bonds with their peers and adults.

These advantages help them to adjust to the education environment and do well academically as well as predict outcomes through adolescence and adulthood.
