(BOISE, ID) – The FBI is now investigating allegations of fraud by Corrections Corporation of America. Representatives of the Tennessee-based company have admitted that employees falsified hours and understaffed parts of the prison, which became dangerous for many inmates. The FBI is taking over an investigation that was initially launched by Idaho State Police last month. CCA denies any criminal activity, but executives say they’re willing to cooperate with the FBI. CCA is under a court order to pay the state $1 million to settle the understaffing claims.
