Frank Martin Suspended One Game
Published at(NEW YORK) — The University of South Carolina suspended its men’s basketball coach Frank Martin one game on Thursday.
The suspension is a result of Martin yelling and swearing at freshman Duane Notice during the Gamecocks loss to Florida Tuesday night. The situation was caught on video and went viral.
“The one-game suspension is a result of inappropriate verbal communication as it relates to the well-being of our student-athletes,” South Carolina athletic director Ray Tanner said in a statement Thursday.
Associate head coach Matt Figers will replace Martin in the team’s regular-season finale at Mississippi State.
