SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1394805565223NBA via Atlanta Hawks(ATLANTA) — With the Atlanta Hawks scratching and crawling their way to hold onto the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, center Al Horford revealed that he will be unable to return to the team this season after an injury.

“No. I think it would be hard. This injury, honestly, was a little more severe than the other one,” Horford said, referring to tearing his pectoral muscle back in 2011. “And it’s my right side, shooting arm, and I need to feel 100 percent confident with it, so I think it’s going to be a little bit slower.”

Back on Dec. 26, 2013, Horford tore his right pectoral muscle for the second time, and has been out of action since.

With the team losing seven of their last eight games, the Hawks are clinging onto the final playoff spot in the East and could certainly use Horford. When healthy, the 27-year-old Horford is one of the best centers in the NBA. In 29 games this season, Horford was averaging 18.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
