She’s suing a Hartford, Conn., attorney for more than $75,000 in damages for allegedly using her image in advertisements for his firm without her permission.

The complaint from the TV star, whose birth name is Judith Sheindlin, claims attorney John Haymond ran ads on television and on the Internet featuring her likeness, even after being notified in 2013 by Judge Judy’s producers that the advertisements weren’t approved by Sheindlin, according to court documents obtained by The Hartford Courant.

The suit goes on to allege that the ads falsely implied that Sheindlin endorsed or was somehow affiliated with Haymond’s law firm.

In a statement from her publicist, Sheindlin says, “Mr. Haymond is a lawyer and should know better.”

Haymond could not be reached for comment.
