Gosselin tells Us Weekly her 13-year-old twins Cara and Mady, and 9-year-old sextuplets — Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel — “cheered like crazy” when she announced they would be doing a one-hour Kate Plus 8 special for TLC.

The 38-year-old reality TV star adds, “It was like I announced that it’s Christmas tomorrow. Our crew walked in and it was like they had never left.”

Her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, reportedly isn’t thrilled that the kids are returning to TV. A source tells Us Weekly, “He thinks it is a really bad idea for his kids. Jon feels he has his kids’ best interest at heart.”

The special will look at how the Gosselin family has grown and changed since their reality series went off the air. It will also look back at the family’s most memorable moments.

Viewers were first captivated by the Gosselins in 2007, when their series Jon & Kate Plus 8 debuted.  Following Jon and Kate’s highly-publicized 2009 divorce, the reality series was renamed Kate Plus 8.  That was canceled in 2011

Kate Plus 8, the one-hour special, will premiere in June.
