The Israelis and Palestinians remain far apart over the possibility of a Palestinian state with Obama urging “compromise from both sides.”

However, Netanyahu said that all the compromises seem to be coming from his country while the Palestinians are not eager to embrace the legitimacy of the Jewish state.

He also listed other steps the Israelis have taken in good faith: “We left entirely Gaza. We’ve not only frozen settlements. We’ve uprooted entire settlements. We’ve released hundreds of terrorist prisoners, including dozens in recent months.”

Meanwhile, Obama pledged that his administration would make certain that Iran never develops a nuclear weapon in spite of Israeli skepticism that ongoing talks between six world powers and Tehran will wind up being fruitless.

Netanyahu remains convinced that the Iranians are determined to develop atomic bombs that they would use as leverage against Israel, leaving no doubt that Israel would launch a preemptive military strike before that ever happens.
