One Dead, Four Others Injured in NJ Transit Accident

Stockbyte/Thinkstock(NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J.) — Police in central New Jersey say one person was killed and several injured Tuesday afternoon after the person was struck by an express train on the local track.
Preliminary eyewitness reports, according to New Jersey Transit, is that the deceased was a man who was on the platform at the northbound New Jersey Transit stop in New Brunswick, leaning into the path of a train, when it passed by and slammed into him. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four other people who were standing on the platform at the time were hit with debris and sustained minor injuries.
