In a statement posted online Friday, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry denied that Russia poses a threat to Ukraine, suggesting that the U.S. and its allies take an aspirin to get over it.

Russia has denied Western claims that it is amassing tens of thousands of troops along its border with Ukraine. The Kremlin insists just a few thousand are there for training.

The Wall Street Journal reports that U.S. officials believe Russian troops are hiding from view, knowing that American spy satellites are watching.

The U.S. believes that Russia has prepared logistical support that could sustain a military operation in Ukraine for a long time. But for now, the only person who knows what Russian President Vladimir Putin will do, is Putin himself.

Despite his denials, a U.S. official pointed out that Putin’s actions and his words haven’t lined up. And that’s why Ukraine and the West are worried.
