ABC 32014 ScandalDavidRosen? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1395308772941ABC/Craig Sjodin(NEW YORK) — Who got shot? That’s what millions of fans want to know after last week’s episode of Scandal.

Joshua Malina, who plays David Rosen, one of the men on the other side of Jake Ballard’s barrel, wouldn’t say who got shot, but told ABC News Radio who avoided the bullet.

“I strongly believe — and I don’t think [creator] Shonda [Rhimes] will be mad at me — that Olivia Pope will survive not only to the next episode, but on into the future,” Malina teased when walking the red carpet at the Divergent premiere in Los Angeles Tuesday night.

As much as last week’s cliffhanger unnerved viewers, it had the same effect on Malina. “It’s maddening and nerve-racking because it’s a great job and I love the job,” the 48-year-old actor said.

“In terms of the direction of my character, I don’t care what the direction is as long as it isn’t down into the ground. But I do know that that’s what I signed on for so if that’s what happens so be it,” Malina added.

Bellamy Young, who plays first lady Mellie Grant, revealed that initially the writers had no idea who got the axe.

“They hadn’t decided who was on the other end of the bullet when we did the table read for last episode. So we waited like…until we sat down at the next table read and opened up the script,” she explained. “And it was horrible!”

Find out how horrible when ABC’s Scandal returns Thursday at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
