Peverley, who has a history of heart issues, remains conscious at a nearby hospital.

“He was tended to by medical personnel immediately and was conscious upon being transferred to a local hospital for further evaluation,” the Stars said in a statement.

Peverley is playing in his eighth season in the NHL. He had an irregular heartbeat last Tuesday that kept him out of a game against Columbus.

“Personally, I thought the medical staff did an unbelievable job tonight,” Dallas coach Lindy Ruff said.

“When he dropped, it was red alert. Don’t worry about the game. It was about getting the doctors.”

The game was postponed and will be made up on a later date.

“Dallas player Rich Peverley is doing well and is in stable condition,” the NHL said in a statement on Monday.

“He has has been transported to the hospital. As a result of the emotional state of the players on both teams caused by the medical emergency, the game is being postponed. We apologize for any inconvenience and we thank the fans.”
