(KETCHUM, ID) – The Sun Valley resort has plans to close its main lodge for a full-scale renovation. The lodge was built in 1936, and will be closed in September for the nine-month construction project. The resort is adding a three-story, 22,000-square-foot spa, eliminating the Lodge Dining Room, and dropping the number of rooms from 148 to about 100. Managers say smaller rooms will be combined to make more luxurious rooms.
