The Younger the Dad, the Better Looking the Child?

That’s the message from University of Vienna associate professor Martin Fieder, who claims to have “found a significant negative effect between paternal age and people’s facial attractiveness.”

It’s already been established that older dads are more at risk of having kids with certain disorders such as autism and schizophrenia, which have been traced to extra genetic mutations.

Fieder says it’s because of these mutated genes that older men will tend to have less attractive children than men half their age.

To prove that point, volunteers rated the attractiveness of 8,000 men and women and Fieder’s research teams discovered that the majority of those rated less attractive were the product of older fathers.

There isn’t much men can do to stop Mother Nature since mutations in DNA can occur whenever sperm replicates. Another problem is as men get older, they’re exposed to more toxins that can result in extra genetic mutations.
