He cares about being a good person and about having a family.

“When I have a family someday, I’ll probably adopt,” Tebow told People Magazine at the Tim Tebow Foundation Celebrity Gala and Golf Classic on March 15. “Adoption has always been something close to my heart. There are so many kids out there who really need a family.”

Tebow started the Tim Tebow Foundation in 2010 to help with any cause that he felt needed his, and others, attention. Last year, he added orphan care to his foundation to give grants to families adopting special needs children.

The March 15 golf tournament that Tebow helped put together raised over $1.1 million for his foundation.

“I believe that everyone, regardless of who they are, should do something that is greater than themselves,” Tebow said. “Whether it’s adoption, or helping people who are sick, or poor, or whatever. That’s what God put us on this earth to do.”

Tebow was hired in December by ESPN as a college football analyst. ESPN and ABC News are owned by The Walt Disney Co.
