(REXBURG, ID) – The BYU-Idaho Student Health Center is confirming at least two cases of whooping cough among students. Officials say that while the vast majority of people receive the pertussis vaccine as children, many people neglect getting booster shots as adults. Both students who’ve tested positive for whooping cough are being treated with antibiotics and have been asked to stay home. A total of five pertussis cases have been reported in eastern Idaho since January 1, with at least 32 statewide.
