whooping cough

(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Whooping cough cases are on the rise around the Gem State. Officials with the Eastern Idaho Public Health District are reporting at least five cases, with another 27 around the state. The infection is preventable through vaccines, but the violent, uncontrollable coughs are often deadly for young children, especially babies. Doctors are urging parents to keep their children away from anyone suspected of having pertussis, and to seek medical attention immediately if symptoms arise.
