Wildlife Activist Blocks Road Near Yellowstone
Published at(BILLINGS, MT) – A wildlife activist chained himself to a cement-filled oil drum to protest the slaughter of Yellowstone bison Thursday morning. Twenty-year-old Comfrey Jacobs faced three criminal trespassing charges after he was found blocking a road near the Stephens Creek corrals, where animals that wandered out of the park are being held. Jacobs says he wanted to stop the shipment of bison to a slaughterhouse. Park officials say about 60 of the 318 animals captured will be spared by being sent to an experimental contraception program.
