Amazon Offering Employees $5,000 to Quit
Published at | Updated at(NEW YORK) — Who said it doesn’t pay to be a quitter?
Retail behemoth Amazon is offering warehouse employees $5,000 if they quit their jobs. In a letter to shareholders Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos explained his decision.
“The goal is to encourage folks to take a moment and think about what they really want,” Bezos wrote in the letter. “In the long-run, an employee staying somewhere they don’t want to be isn’t healthy for the employee or the company.”
Just a warning to new Amazon employees, the full $5,000 only goes to employees who have worked there for four or more years. Newbies will be offered only $2,000.
