Blackfoot Planning Overpass/Underpass for RR Crossing

(BLACKFOOT, ID) – Blackfoot Mayor Paul Loomis is considering plans to construct an overpass or an underpass to help alleviate delays at railroad crossings. He says it’s important to maintain the flow of traffic through town to ensure that emergency vehicles can have better accessibility. Trains are notorious for passing through Blackfoot during high traffic hours, which sometimes even cause school buses to arrive after classes start in the mornings. The estimated cost of the project could exceed $10 million. A public hearing on the plan will be held April 15.
