Celtics’ Fans Part of why Rajon Rondo wants to Stay in Boston

NBA via Boston Celtics(NEW YORK) — It has been a tough season for the Boston Celtics, but specifically for point guard Rajon Rondo, who’s not used to losing at the pro level. Despite the mounting losses, Rondo wants to stay with the team in large part due to the fans.
Rondo has one more year left on his contract, but with the Celtics in rebuilding mode, his future with the team is uncertain.
He returned this season after suffereing a torn ACL a year ago and has looked like his old self. Rondo enjoys playing in Boston and doesn’t want to leave.
“I know that would be a big reason why you wouldn’t want out leave a city like Boston,” said Rondo via Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald. “Because every night, even with the season we’re having, we’re probably still leading the league in attendance or at least up near the top.”
In 29 games this season, Rondo is averaging 11.8 points and 9.7 assists per game. The past three seasons, Rondo has averaged at least 11.0 assists per game.
