(JACKSON, WY) – Several more families in Jackson have been asked to evacuate their homes as a landslide continues to threaten neighborhoods on the west end of town. On Thursday, the Jackson Town Council declared a state of emergency, freeing up thousands of dollars to help stabilize the hillside near Budge Drive. A business evacuation order has been lifted, with the exception of the Sidewinder’s Tavern and the Walgreen’s apartment complex. Emergency crews are also monitoring erosion in the 3 Creeks subdivision, Blue Trail, and Fall Creek Road.
