Crews Preparing Buttress to Slow Jackson Landslide

jackson landslide

(JACKSON, WY) – Public Works officials in Jackson had to relocate a temporary water line Wednesday as part of a much larger effort to contain a slumping hillside. Geologists have calculated movement on the hill along Budge Drive to be about two inches per day. Concrete barriers and fill material will be brought in today to form a buttress. More than 60 people in the neighborhood below the hill remain under an evacuation advisory.
