According to Deadline.com, Discovery will utilize footage shot by NBC News’ Peacock Productions, which had been set to produce Everest Jump Live. Its crews had been shooting footage for the five nights of Everest-themed programming that the network had planned, leading up to the special.

Everest Jump Live, which had been scheduled to air May 11, would have featured Joby Ogwyn gliding down from the summit of Mount Everest using a wingsuit.

The documentary will focus on the avalanche and the local reaction to it. The film’s length and airdate have not yet been announced.

Discovery hopes to make a donation to a charity benefiting the families of the Sherpa guides killed in the avalanche, and encourage viewers to pitch in as well.
