Fire Chief: Burn Permits Now Required

(POCATELLO, ID) – Fire officials from around southeast Idaho are warning residents to obtain burn permits before burning anything on their property during spring cleaning. The Pocatello Valley Volunteer Fire Department is also advising people to contact their local dispatch centers to notify them prior to burning leaves, branches, and other material. All burning must be conducted during daylight hours and must be at least 50 feet away from any structures. Open burning will be banned after July 1.
