Four Idaho Teens Serving Life Without Parole
Published at(BOISE, ID) – A total of four Idaho teenagers are now serving life sentences without the possibility of parole. In 2012, the U.S. Supreme Court made mandated life sentences for minors unconstitutional, with the exception of murder cases. All four teenage prisoners in the Gem State have murder convictions. Ada County District Judge Cheri Copsey says that while other states are imposing less strict sentences for minors, she believes life without parole ensures the safety of the general public.
