The Denver-based carrier announced on Monday it is has restructured its fares to include only two options: Economy and Classic Plus. As a result, unless passengers pay more for a Classic Plus ticket, they will have to pay extra for carry-on bags, checked bags and seat assignments.

The cost of a carry-on bag will range anywhere from $20 to $50.

By unbundling tickets, Frontier says the lowest Economy fares have gone down by an average of 12 percent on every nonstop route the airline flies.

“With an unbundled product, customers can save even more by choosing to pay for only the products that they want, allowing them to customize their flight experience for each and every flight,” Frontier Airlines CEO David Siegel said in a statement.

Passengers who pay more for a Classic Plus fare will get one free checked bag and one free carry-on bag, along with other amenities.

The changes apply to any tickets purchased on or after April 28, 2014.
