(IDAHO FALLS, ID)  — Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter was in Idaho Falls on Tuesday as part of the Mayor’s Business Day event held at the Shilo Inn O’Callahan’s Convention Center.  Otter addressed area business leaders during a luncheon portion of the all day event.  He referred to Eastern Idaho as the “center for our potential energy growth.”  He also spoke about how developing the workforce “is and important part of our economy and future.”

The event this year omitted the job fair portion and instead focused on business development.  The city of Idaho Falls will sponsor a job fair later in the year.  Tuesday was more about building business instead of hiring.  Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper says Eastern Idaho has what businesses need to prosper here.

It is not just about attracting businesses to the area, but also about helping them flourish once they are here, according to Ammon Mayor Dana Kirkham.
