Hawks Blitz Pacers to Take 2-1 Series Lead

Getty Teague?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1398402872058Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Jeff Teague had 22 points and 10 assists to help the Atlanta Hawks blitz the Indiana Pacers 98-85 Thursday, to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven first round playoff series.

Kyle Korver scored 20 and DeMarre Carroll had 18 for the Hawks, who used a 16-7 run early in the second half to separate from the top-seeded Pacers.

“In the second half, we came out and made some big shots,” Teague said. “Everybody played well.”

Lance Stephenson had 21 points and 13 rebounds for the Pacers in the loss.

“We have a dream of winning it all,” Pacers forward Paul George said after shooting 3-of-11 from the field Thursday night. “We’ve got be much more tougher than that. I don’t think it’s there. Our toughness is questionable right now.”

Roy Hibbert continued to have a rough series for the Pacers: the 7-foot-2 center had four points and two rebounds in the game and was benched the entire fourth quarter.

Game 4 is Saturday in Atlanta. Tip off is scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern.
