High Winds Cause Power Outages, Close I-15

(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Severe weather caused more than 3,000 area families to lose power Tuesday. High winds knocked out nearly a dozen power poles between Rexburg and Rigby, while blowing dust prompted a temporary closure along I-15 between Idaho Falls and Roberts.  The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory until 9 o’clock tonight.  A similar storm system is expected to hit the region on Friday as well.
