(LEXINGTON, Ky.) — After just one season at Kentucky, forward Julius Randle announced he is leaving the school to declare for the NBA draft.
The 6-foot-9 Randle announced his decision with just five days left before the deadline for underclassmen to declare for the draft. He helped the Wildcats go 29-11 this past season before losing to Connecticut in the NCAA final.
“Kentucky will always have a special place in my heart, but growing up as a kid, there’s always been my dream to play in the NBA, and there’s no better opportunity for me to achieve that than now,” Randle said.
Randle averaged 15.0 points and 10.4 rebounds this season and was voted to The Associated Press’ All-America third team. He could very well be a lottery pick in the June 26 draft.
