Knicks Sign Lamar Odom
(NEW YORK) -- Phil Jackson's first move as team president was bringing in a former player on Wednesday. The Knicks signed Lamar Odom for the rest of this season and a non-guaranteed deal for next season, reports ESPN.com.
The team announced the signing 45 minutes before the season finale against the Raptors.
Odom played for Jackson for five seasons and was a part of two NBA championships before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks.
Odom signed a two-month contract with Laboral Kutxa Baskonia in the Spanish ACB, but left the team with a back injury after just two games in March.
Odom was arrested on a DUI charge and reportedly suffered from substance-abuse issues during the 2013 offseason. He also went through a divorce this year with reality TV star Khloe Kardashian.
