Strahan told the audience he was “surprised” when he saw the report after leaving a screening of Captain America on Tuesday night.

“We had a meeting and talked about the possibility of doing something there,” Strahan clarified. “We’ve talked.”

With Kelly Ripa by his side, Strahan stressed what his hosting priorities are.

“I just want everyone to know, and you to know, that no matter what, this is my number one priority. You are my number one priority,” he told his co-host of over a year. “And I love what I do, so I would never do anything to jeopardize the quality of what we do here and the enjoyment of what we do here.”

“It’s one of those things that [I] would have to be smart about…,” Strahan continued. “I don’t think I could do an everyday thing. I’m already busy enough.”

Along with being an analyst on Fox NFL Sunday, Strahan is also set to host and executive produce Nickelodeon’s first-ever Kids’ Choice Sports Awards on July 17.

The former NFL star joined Live with Kelly and Michael in September 2012, replacing Regis Philbin, who stepped down in November 2011. By the time Strahan had been named official host, he had co-hosted the Emmy-winning show more than 20 times.
