Montana Seeking Proposals for Bison Relocation
Published at(BILLINGS, MT) – Authorities on Montana are seeking proposals to determine the future of disease-free 135 bison that wandered out of Yellowstone National Park during the winter. The animals have been repeatedly tested for brucellosis–a disease that causes females to prematurely abort their calves. The bison are being temporarily held on a
ranch outside Bozeman owned by media mogul Ted Turner. Officials say they’d like to see the animals thrive in relocation programs.
