The Nationals placed Zimmerman on the disabled list after suffering the injury during the team’s loss to the Atlanta Braves on Saturday.

“It is what it is. Nobody is going to feel sorry for us,” Nationals manager Matt Williams said.

Zimmerman was off to a hot start with the Natinoals this season, his tenth with the team. In 10 games, Zimmerman was hitting .364 with two home runs.

The injury forces the Nationals to shake up their team, as Anthony Rendon will move from second to third base while shortstop Danny Espinosa will shift to second base.

“It’s not our first choice, certainly, but the fact that they can play multiple positions is good in times like this,” Williams added.

The team is also dealing with injuries to Denard Span, and Jayson Werth.
