(AMERICAN FALLS, ID) – Power County has seen an uptick in the number of drug trafficking arrests over the past few months. Idaho State Police say many of those arrested are from North Dakota. The high number of out-of-state drug convictions has raised a few eyebrows, but authorities say 80 percent of all vehicles stopped in the region are Gem State drivers. They also note that they won’t search a vehicle without probable cause, with the most common justification for a search being the smell of marijuana smoke.
