(WASHINGTON) — San Diego Padres third baseman Chase Headley left the team’s game versus the Washington Nationals Thursday in the middle of the second inning with a strained right calf.
Headley flied out to center in the top of the second inning and then did not return to the field in the bottom half of the inning.
This isn’t the first time this year Headley’s right calf has bothered him. He strained it Feb. 22 during a rundown drill at the Padres’ spring training complex. The strain kept Headley out of games until March 18.
