Paula Deen Restaurant at Center of Lawsuit Closes
Published at | Updated at(NEW YORK) — Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House in Savannah, Ga., which was co-owned by Paula Deen and her younger brother, Earl W. “Bubba” Hiers Jr., announced on its website it has closed.
The restaurant was at the center of a lot of negative publicity for Deen. A former Uncle Bubba’s employee filed a lawsuit against Deen alleging discrimination.
In a deposition last year, Deen admitted she had used a racial slur 30 years prior; it resulted in the loss of several sponsors.
The lawsuit was eventually dismissed following a settlement.
