(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Idaho State Police are cracking down on distracted drivers this month. Trooper Pete Sibus says there are tell-tale signs for drivers who aren’t paying attention to the road in front of them, and cell phones are often the biggest distraction. An estimated one in four crashes nationwide involves someone using a cell phone at the time of the accident. Texting and driving was made illegal under Idaho law in 2012, but less than 100 tickets were issued by state police in the first year it was in effect.
