The Rangers will rest Beltre the next few days to determine the next course of action. If he does not feel like his quad is improving, they will then place him on the disabled list.

“The quad is new territory for him,” Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said. “My expectations, in knowing him, he’s going to say he’s OK and we’ll have to determine if he really is. He’s so competitive and he wants to go out there. We have to be sure that playing him doesn’t set him back.”

The 35-year-old Beltre had previously dealt with hamstring injuries during his time with the Rangers.

Beltre has been one of the best offensive third baseman in Major League Baseball in recent years. He’s hit under .300 just once over the past four seasons.
